Boosting Plastic Packaging Recyclability: setting the right standards

27th April 2023, 10.00-12.00 CEST | Online

Horizon Standardisation Booster  has organised a webinar that puts focus on the interplay between regulation, standardisation, research and innovation and how these in unity can boost plastic packaging recyclability in Europe.

Plastic and plastic packaging is an integral part of our everyday life, but our handling of the material is not sustainable. Therefore, there is now more than ever a focus on the production, handling and recycling of plastic to create a more circular and green economy. Research and innovation have a crucial role to play in developing new solutions and piloting new approaches. Regulation is a prerequisite if we are to meet the ambitious goals on recyclability and plastics in Europe and standards are currently being developed to facilitate, among other things, documentation, circularity and quality of recycled plastic packaging.

The webinar will focus on the interplay between plastic and food packaging regulation, standardisation, research, and innovation, and how these in unity can boost plastic packaging recyclability in Europe.

Several stakeholders in the field of plastic packaging recyclability (among them the European Commission, the European Technical Committee for standardisation of packaging, and Horizon projects) will come together in the webinar for expert presentations and panel discussions about upcoming regulations, standards, and opportunities.

Registration is free and can be done through the event’s official webpage, where you can also find the agenda: https://hsbooster.eu/events/boosting-plastic-packaging-recyclability-setting-right-standards
